Jean-Charles De Ravenel

Jean-Charles de Ravenel is considered a citizen of the world, with deeply French roots and a fervent passion for the arts. His life, divided between the cosmopolitan charm of Paris and the sunny exoticism of Nassau in the Bahamas, reflects a fascinating odyssey through the artistic universe. In Paris, he distinguished himself by leading an art gallery for nearly twenty years, dedicating himself to the decorative arts, a field for which he always had a visible fascination.

His move to Nassau marked a decisive turning point in his creative trajectory. Enveloped by the stunning beauty of the Bahamas, he devoted himself enthusiastically to the art of collage, exploring with insatiable curiosity a wide range of themes such as history, botany, ethnology, mineralogy, landscaping, and fine arts. Drawing inspiration from 18th and 19th-century engravings and prints, he created works of exceptional richness and depth.

Jean-Charles de Ravenel inaugurated his exhibitions in New York in 2013, captivating audiences at the Chinese Porcelain Company with his inventive compositions. He continued to surprise art enthusiasts in Los Angeles in 2014 at the Hollyhock Gallery, and in 2016, he brought his unique vision to Palm Beach, showcasing his work at the gallery of renowned interior designer Amanda Lindroth.

In 2022, shortly after settling in Estoril, he found new inspiration. Influenced by the avant-garde movements of Suprematism and Cubism, Jean-Charles de Ravenel ventured into creating a series of collages that marked a new chapter in his artistic exploration. Vibrant and innovative, these works break with the past, revealing his capacity for reinvention and his eternal passion for the arts, inviting us to explore new horizons.
